Job Description: Athletic Trainer Researcher
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Athletic Trainer Researcher to join our Sports and Athletics department. As an Athletic Trainer Researcher, you will play a critical role in conducting research, analyzing data, and providing valuable insights to enhance athletic training programs and improve the overall performance and well-being of athletes. This position requires a strong background in athletic training and research methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research studies related to athletic training, injury prevention, rehabilitation protocols, and performance enhancement techniques.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data obtained from research studies, clinical trials, and other sources.
- Collaborate with other researchers, athletic trainers, and medical professionals to design and implement research projects.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements, trends, and best practices in athletic training and related fields.
- Prepare and present research findings, reports, and recommendations to stakeholders, including management, coaches, and athletes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of evidence-based training programs and protocols.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of athletic training programs and interventions.
- Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation related to research projects.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements throughout the research process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field. A master's or doctoral degree is preferred.
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification from the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in athletic training, preferably in a research-focused role.
- Strong knowledge of research methodologies, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
- Proficiency in using research software, data analysis tools, and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple research projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Knowledge of ethical considerations and principles in research involving human subjects.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and research compliance standards.
